Activities of Human Concerns

Military Rosaries

These hand crafted rosaries are created for donation to military personnel.  They are sent to the military as a reminder of God’s love as well as Sheboygan community’s gratefulness for their service.  They offer the person who receives the rosary a means of prayer to the Lord.

Emmaus Meals

This outreach provides six hot meals a year at the Salvation Army.  Meals are cooked and served to anyone who wants a meal on these Saturdays from 11 am to 12:30 pm.  The group is always looking for further volunteer assistance.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes

The food boxes are distributed through the joint cooperation of St. Clement, Holy Name of Jesus and St. Vincent DePaul (SVDP) volunteers.  SVDP provides names of individuals interested in receiving a Thanksgiving food box and the SC and HN volunteers bake cookies, fill and deliver the boxes to those signed up.  The distribution of boxes is done on the Saturday before Thanksgiving weekend.

Tree of HopeTree of Hope

This outreach is a tri-cluster parish effort done the four weeks of Advent.  Leading up to Christmas, the outreach collects various items to be distributed to those in need to include nursing homes, toys for children at SVDP, reverse food pantry and Mary’s Room.

Prayer Chain

This cooperative effort is between SC and HN who join together with the firm belief in the power of prayer. Prayer requests are received by telephone, email or collection notes and volunteers pray intercessory prayers for the request.  More volunteers are always welcome.

Little Lourdes Day

This day begins with a Mass of Anointing for elderly, anyone having surgery, those dealing with mental or health issues, or anyone in special needs.  Little Lourdes Day is held on the 2nd Wednesday of August with a 10 am Mass at HN and a reception and fellowship to follow in the narthex.

Outreach and Food Pantry Sundays

This outreach is a joint parish effort involving SC and HN parishes.  A monthly collection of food happens every 3rd weekend at the parishes.  The food is then donated to the North-side Food Pantry located at St. Dominic Church.  The outreach also collects items throughout the year for such organizations as Safe Harbor, Bridgeway House, Habitat for Humanity and Rainbow Kids.  Three reverse food collections are done yearly, usually in Feb., July and Oct.
